    Woo-hoo! There's another kilt-wearin', Luther-readin' man out there!!!

Great pics and it sounds like a wonderful time was had by all. My church's party is this Friday and it's always an enjoyable event. I shall, as usual, be the sole Scots-American in a sea of German-Americans. But that's cool - I always keep them on their toes. Must be a latent remnant of the "Ladies from Hell" syndrome

The kilt looks great, mate.My only criticism is that you should have polished your shoes - unless of course you didn't want to upset the ladies too much ;)

I was hoping to have my first kilt (16oz Cornish National tank) in time for Christmas, so I could wear it to the myriad functions I am compelled to attend. Unfortunately finances have dictated that I have to wait until mid-January  At least I'll have it in time for Australia Day

Ummmhhh, Troy, on a kilt wearing and promoting board such as this, we really do not concern ourselve too much about the shine on the shoes, but we are extremely concerned that the shoes match the kilt outfit!:-D:-D

My shoes are usually polished to a high military shine, but we had several inches of slushy snow that day and my shoes were soaked after I walked over to the church. The condition of my shoes was bugging me all night. I was hoping the pics weren't bright enough for anyone on here to notice.

I didn't notice the shoes either, I'm not that critical, I check the overall "look" and you did a great job!

Water marks on the shoes my be better than red faces of the parrishoners!

    Thumbs up

Nice gams, Joel! Great story. Sounds like you warmed the older woman's heart, and presumably vice versa. If you think of it, ask her about the song again. And yeah, my kilt-sportin' boyfriend likes to make sure the shoes match the rest of the outfit, particularly the style of shirt. If people get embarrassed as as result of shined shoes, then they're lookin' a wee bit too close. ;)

Those Germans had a way with words... referring to the Scots as "ladies from Hell" and the USMC as "devil dogs."

    Nollaig chridheil huibh!
