Thats what I thought of first. However, the buttons didn't seem to be in the right place for suspenders. I guess they really do things diffrent in the militery.
D'OH!!! MAJOR, MAJOR BRAIN LAPSE....I REMEMBER WHERE I'VE SEEN THIS!! STILLWATER KILTS !! I've been checking on the heavyweights all week.
Stillwater has stated they mistakenly called it Hunting Stewart. They now list it as Hunting McLeod.
I thought it looked like the Huntng McLeod, when I first saw it. But I'm not aware of any regiment using that tartan.
As for the buttons, perhaps they are used to attach the top of the kilt to the inside of a doublet. I've heard that being done to keep the undershirt from showing through between the jacket and kilt.
