Has there been any clues as to what tartans will be offered in HW?

From Stillwater's web site:
" 12-11-05
We are starting to list some 2006 Standard Kilts on our web store, they have some new features, they are now tailored similar to our Heavyweight kilts. We have added the Hunting McLeod tartan to the standard line-up.
Heavyweights: We have had some fabric issues which had to be solved before Heavyweight production could start. We hope to have some ready before the holidays, but no promises at this point. Our next batch of Black Watch Heavyweights will be made from Australian Merino Wool, you will love the fabric as much as we do. Once that is running smoothly, we will do more solid black before considering any other tartans/colors. The re-design of our standard kilts has been our main focus lately."

Just got the swk MaCleod kilt in today. Even though it is for my son I just had to open the box and have a look see. This is a nice kilt. The pattern is smaller than My traditional but not many people will even notice that. It is well made and looks great. I can't wait to see how it looks on him. (I would probably try it on myself if it weren't way to small for me). For the Price, I am thinking of getting myself one to wear in the summer when it is way to hot for the tank.

2006 Nightstalker----wonderful! I think it gives the most "real kilt experience" for the money. I'm right at six feet, and the 24" length fits me perfectly. Quick turnaround, a quality product, darned good pricing----it's the "fake real kilt" for daily wear.

I just had a discussion about that with USAK. On their site and other sites it mentions that most men between 5' 8" & 6' will be 24" length. I'm 5' 7.5" and my length is also 24" (although I have one 23.5" that I like a lot too). I commented to them that I found it interesting that with a 4 inch spread of height there is no real difference in length for men.
I wonder why that is? Does the increased height not get spread proportionately through the body? If the length from above the navel to above the knee doesn't change, where does it change? - Calves? Torso?
Just an odd little anatomical conundrum.

it's ideosyncratic. some people are longer in the legs and shorter through the torso. others have shorter legs and longer though the torso. i too need a 24" drop on my kilts, but i'm 6'3". my inseam is only 32". while a friend of mine is 5'11" with an inseam of 34" (i know this becasue we had a similar discussion about bicycle frame sizes). so my legs are relatively short for a person of my height, but my torso is relatively long for someone of my height. sounds like your legs are relatively long compared to your torso for your height. just a working theory though...

SWK 2006 Standard arrived today!
Got my 06 Irish National Standard today  Now I'm not hands on familar with "real" wool kilts, but this seems pretty close in general appearance. It is very nicely made, with all the features as advertised on Stillwater's site. It has good "swing" like I'd expect to see on a good kilt. I was also really impressed by how bold the kelly green of this tartan is, St.Patrick's day here I come!
About my only beef was how nerve-racking it was getting out the tack stitching, my wife took over so I wouldn't mess up the fabric. At 5 foot 9, the length seems about an inch too long, I will have my mother-inlaw the seamstress hem it up for me and then a good pressing to sharpen up the pleats.
Up till now I've only had a couple of the 'new style' Sport Kilts, which in the words of Mrs. Zardoz; "look great until you get around folks with 'real' kilts" She calls the SK a 'training kilt'! Needless to say, she is pleased with the Stillwater, as am I. I wish I'd come across Stillwater sooner in my quest for an inexpensive kilt, I wouldn't have known about them at all if it wasn't for X-Marks and Kilt Day.
Merry Christmas!
