I thought the same...I was going to ask how you got a 2006 already...

I have been watching the SWK site daily waiting for the 06 Irish National to get released...

For what its worth I'm 6 foot even and my inseam is only 30" Go figure, leaves me out of the SWK market unless I wanna do alterations, which I don't...can't...

Just shortened the length on my USAK reorder, even with it up above my navel.

I like kilts at the top of my knees, or mid-knee at the lowest.

Maybe someday at a festival or games I'll get to see one and find out what all the raves are about.

    Well Crap!

It appears I've made quite a cock-up! My Irish National is NOT an 06! No sewn down pleats or deep lining. The way I read the SW website, I assumed that the Irish Nat. standards listed were new models. I looked at the Nightstalkers today, (thinking about ordering one) and now I see that some are listed as "2006 Model" Dammit! I never looked at the other tartan's, so I never noticed the descriptions were different. I have no one else to blame, but I'm still pretty disappointed, I only ordered the thing because I thought it would be the "new and improved" version. Otherwise I'd have waited, or saved that money for my custom kilt. I've pulled the basting stitch already, I guess I'm gonna have to get the pleats sewn myself.

Ok, I just got the gordon '06 today. It looks good. Lot of pleats... sewn down pleats. Very substantial waistband. The belt loop sline up with the pleats. And I did not notice any unusual creases on the apron.

I will probably remove the lower strap and buckle and I might hem the bottom. As it is it goes to the bottom of my knees.

I will be wearing it to church this evening along with the lochcarron kilt hose I got for my birthday.

    Old v. New Stillwaters

I have NO idea how she figured it out, but my sister got me a Stillwater standard Irish National----it's the '05 version, of course, but I still like it. The '06 Nightstalker is a big step up, but I like the "old style" standards enough that I picked up an '05 Nightstalker as well.

I mean, heck, Bear doesn't sew down his pleats, right?
