The one kilt I never take off!

I'm considering a tattoo of a flying squirrel, I have been raising and exhibiting them for about nine years. My online handle (Sciuropterus) is one of the Latin names for them, I have 5 flyers of the Glaucomys Volans variety, hope to get some g. Sabrinus next year.

Once I get a design I like, I will pin it on the wall and think about it. If I still like it after a year or so, I will take the plunge. I will probably get it on my lower leg, so it will show if I am wearing a kilt.

Mike and Colin both hit the proverbial nail on the head: Tattoos and kilts can be addictive and creative 'adornments' for the human body, far better and more beneficial than the multitude of self-destructive alternatives out there.

Waited until age 59 for my first tat...now have eleven, including a full back tattoo.

I do so love the endorphins the needle releases. ;-)

Sadly, I got my tat addiction before my kilt addiction and now there isn't room where I want it for clan crests. I do have a Scottish Heart tattoo over my heart though.

I have no doubts that you're correct, but I'm still not even sure of the one tattoo I want to get (and that's at least two years away in any case). I know I want to do something to commemorate my (future) Triple Crown, and a tat seems like the best way to do it: understated but permanent.
