Dave,
I DO wish you luck! I have been trying to lose weight for several years now - tried supervised gym work - no change; have been a cautious eater for a long, long time so dieting, including Atkins, - no change; cut out all alcohol - no change; took up more sensible general exercise - no change. When I was working I was around 12 stones in weight for many years, with a 32" waist but, when I retired, my weight began to increase to my present almost 15 stones and my waist has crept up to 39"/40". Admittedly at 69½ I am not as active as I was, but I still walk a great deal and have a treadmill in my bedroom which I use, so I think it's an 'age thing', perhaps it's something in my genes but both parents were as thin as rakes!
Fortunately, I can still (just) get into all the kilts in my 'Kollection' with the exception of just one, but I do worry about the future!!
Anyway, all the Best to you .......... but do you really believe you'll be able to fight the addiction? ;)
