I'm Glad you like the Casual so much!

The difference between the old "Philabeg Model" and the NEW Casual Model... the name. When we changed the site around, we wanted to change the names to better reflect what the different models of kilts truly were... the model you got is truly a "Casual Kilt" and since we stopped making our low end model (what USED to be our "casual kilt"), we renamed the Philabeg.

Unfortunately, a lining in our casual isn't practical for a few reasons...

1. The disign of the free floating apron (on our casual model) makes it difficult to have a lining that would extend down to the bottom of the fell. This would restrict the movement of the "free floating apron" and make the apron pull to the left when sitting. It would also add a huge cost which would push people away from ordering it.

2. Since the "innards" of the pleats are not cut out, but rather sewn together into the waistband, there is no real need to have a lining. ONE of the main reasons that 8 yard wool kilts have linings is b/c the extra pleat material is cut out on the inside to reduce bulk. The cotton lining and canvas reinforcement are both hand sewn in (as they are on our Premier model) to add stability.
