So, to represent ones weight in stones, it must be a factor of 14?
John, 12.857 stone. :-)

Thanks for the advice and support guys. I pretty much know what I need to do, it's just making myself do it!;) I'm off to a good start. I went walking three days during my four day weekend, including an 11km volksmarch on Saturday (the other days were shorter). I just need to keep that up and not find too many excuses. I have a plan for the distances I'm going to walk; now I need to map out some different routes so that I don't get bored.

Good Luck Dave!
I have the same goal for the new year. I purchased an Olive greren UK mocker off of eBay, but it is just a little too small. Need to lose 5-10 pounds (or just under a stone!) to fit into it comfortably. And I really want to wear it. I love the mockers and the color is awesome.

You can do it
I went off the beer and just drank a lot of water sometimes W/ Scotch. Cut out the breads and pasta. Then I started swiming 3X a week. I went from 256# 18.28 stone to 215# 15.35 stone (I cheated over the holidays) I want to get to 200# 14.28 stone It is allways easer to make a kilt smaller than to streach it, alot easer than trying to make pants smaller. What do I know ask the real kilt makers here
Keep it going!!!

If you want to check out volksmarching, check out this site (for the US):
http://www.ava.org/
10km is the normal distance for a volksmarch and I have walked them about once a month or so. The event that is my goal includes one day over 40km and another over 30km, but I've got some work to build up to that.

Hi Dave, Oh that seems too structured for us. We move at an erratic pace and watch the flora and fauna or our own wildlife.
We have been doing the AT, C&O, and any park/forest that lets us in. The last trips the AT in Cascade, MD and up in Caledonia State Park. If you see a ragged bunch hiking around, that would be me in the spiffy kilt.
