I've noticed the same thing. I think the kilt brings out your self confidence, just like anything you do that challenges your courage. I'm much more bold about chatting up complete strangers or speaking up in situations where I would otherwise have stayed quiet before.
I don't think my kilt wearing is a desire for attention. I get plenty of that being as tall as I am. And Michael, the women love us tall guys whether we're wearing a kilt or a suit. ;-)
