You look great! It does make me wonder what's in the mind of men who try to peek? Happened to me once and the look he got from me was enough to start him stammering an apology

Fantastic look!
I'm sure the compliments were sincere. You deserve to feel proud.

Very smart indeed, Robin, and a nicely balanced and colour-co-ordinated image you present.
A Golf Club event like that, here in the UK, would probably have been a black-tie 'do', in which case I should have been very wary of wearing the green tie and hose (which here, are essentially 'day wear'), and with a Dress sporran. However, if the invitation stated "lounge suit", I'd have been very comfortable in wearing what you did, and so successfully. Well done.

Overhere the black-tie is almost an endangered species (a pitty...a crime), most think they're well dressed when they wear a tie with whatever horrific combination you can think of.
The dress code went completely down the drain...very few know how to dress properly these days.
No dress "advise" on the invitation....no black-tie, no tenue de ville, no nothing...people just do what they think is right...and that's most often not a pretty sight.
Seen a handful of suits and that's about it...most women do much better by the way.
