Cunningham tartan kilt
Thanks for the feedback from Sweden. I'm hoping to take some more kilts and Scottish heritage pictures later this year. I've only bought my digital camera and scanner recently so still exploring the potential. Like the others who posted a Cunningham ancestry, I haven't been able to trace mine back beyond three generations, but much more is known of my mother's family. Her maiden name was Mewhort. The ancestry goes back to a William Mewhort who was one of King William's troops who went to Ireland in 1690. He married an Irish grirl and stayed behind, but then the family moved on during the potato famines to Scotland, and later to Canada. So I know of many people with the surname Mewhort throughout Canada and also in Hawaii who are distantly related to me.
