Aye, I concur. I was there as well...last year there were a lot more people in kilts than there were this year...I was proud to be among them.

Snipe, it was good to meet you, and see your son there as well. Next year when I'm 21 I'll buy you a drink.

Guys, if you haven't ever listened to Enter the Haggis, you are missing out. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They were tight, and fun to watch as well as dance to (although heaven knows I'm a terrible dancer...so were the other people who danced, though...)

    Dang,

Looked them up and they seem to be an East Coast group....nada out here in the hinterlands of the West yet.

    Here's their tour schedule http://www.enterthehaggis.com/index.php?page=Tour

Guess I'll have to content myself with their CDs, which they sell on their site.

If you want to see them earlier (and indoors) I think that they may be playing at the Mid-Winter Irish & Scottish Music Fest in Valley Fordge PA in mid-Feb.

I know, but I cant always get down there.

I do want to get down that way to check out Rocky's shop.

Because I work in NYC, my weekends are usually busy taking care of the "little things" that I can't normally get to.

The guys from ETH are REALLY nice and VERY personable. That's one of the reasons (IMHO) they're so successful. They (unlike SOme unnamed "biger" Irish bands) stick around after the set and like to sign autographs and talk to their fans. It creates a bond with the fans and instills a loyalty that is tough to break.

I hate when artists think it's a CHORE to speak to the fans. The way I see it, we pay their salary... they SHOULD be thanking us!

When they came up here, we saw them in a crowded bar of maybe 150 and there were probably 15 kilts (not including the band).

As an aside... not to hijack the thread... Kelly and I (and also Hank and the Highland Tide crew) will also be at mid winter fest (Feb 17, 18, 19), so the shop itself will be closed. ETH will NOT be there (although Brother, Seven Nations, Rathkeltair, Hadrian's Wall, etc will).

Are you having a stand? It wasn't clear on the fest site if it was just music, or what...

Just took a quick look, cause I'd seen this festival mentioned before. Haggis is not on the list of performers. Got really excited for a second there.
But there are several other great bands listed (Seven Nations, Brother, etc).
