I've had the temperature debate with my wife many times and I can honestly say I am at least as warm as I would be in pants, even in a USA Casual. The key to me is that the pleats maintain a very good warm air barrier between my legs and the outside temp. When wearing jeans, the denim is quickly cooled by the outside air and conducted to the inside where it is constantly touching my legg...brrrrrrrr. My kilt has 2 - 3 layers depending on apron or pleat, the inner layer stays warm from my body heat and is not cooled by the outside thanks to the middle layer. I'll deal with the occasional cool breeze..a guys got to have something to smile about :mrgreen:
