Hmmmh, a reason to buy another kilt...
    KCW,

My putty wrinlkles pretty badly too, and the pleats curl something fierce. It was also very stiff when I first got it. Compared to the UK and my Stillwaters, it's a very casual garment. I now use it strictly for home improvement tasks, kind of like a UK workman with out all the pockets and loops (and 2 for the price of one). 8-)

    Mowgli,

Same here. I will now only wear it to work right after ironing it. And since I hate to iron (must try Ron's fishing weight trick), it does not get much office wear.

I have a black (microfiber) AK, and though it does wrinkle, it hangs out quickly. Yes there are pros and cons to AKs, I like mine fine.

It's your own reaction/opinion that counts.

AK is a good value. I bought mine and really enjoy it. I find the reaction I get to it by unknowing people is they don't know what to make of it, because it doesn't fit their notion of what a kilt is. It is comfortable, the "sporran" is roomy and the back pocket comes in handy. The Freedom Kilts look like a great value for the money, (Canadian $ v the US $) and are more like a traditional kilt and are custom made. If Pittsburgh Kilts was not on a break I would tell you to check them out as well. Also Rocky at USA did a solid color kilt for Graham that was quite beautiful.

That was a one time thing I believe. Rocky hasn't shown any interest in pursuing solids as far as I've heard.

Absolutely right sir, my totally incoherent point was that there are other options.

Boy, now I'm really jonesing. I have 3 on order - tan, denim, and corduroy, and they are supposed to ship this week. Even fireproof? Not that I plan on trying to burn myself up.

My two Schmipps (sorry! changed the chip) my two kilts are Amerikilt. I was happy with them until I started to read in forums how bad they can look in only one year's time (stiffness, bullet proof wrinkles, color fades...).

It's from november that I purchased them. I could not wear them as often as I liked, so I haven't washed them. I'm sure that this is the way to make them to stay with this beautiful shape they are from the factory.

it took my putty approx 2 years to break in, with ALOT of abuse. it has settled into more of a moleskin feel which is nice on those cooler nights

BTW, I can also say the same things about my 3 USAKilts, the latest trial for them was the new years eve Gwar concert, the blood didnt come out of my skin for 2 weeks, but came right out of my USAK.
