Well, I am pleasantly surprised to be joining this thread. It seems that the Clan Gunn Society is having its 15th Annual Gathering in Caithness & Orkney from July 22 to July 30. And I think we are actually going to be able to go! I don't know if I can contain myself, but I have to in case it doesn't work out.

I would be open to meeting just before or after the July 22-30 dates.

It's rather a long time to hold one's breath, but until the we've actually made the arrangements, etc., that's how I'll feel. We've never been this close to going before... :-o :-)

We had to find a new hotel..."The Loch Ness Lodge" hotel didn't had the right accomodation....tried the "Benleva", but they're already full.

Now we stay at Muir of Ord (20 minutes from Drumnadrochit)

My dates in Scotland 6th to 20th Aug. So it seems I can't make it now. Can't change the dates because of maneuvers.

The last news about the dates for the visit make almost sure this dates:

From 4th to 13th of August.

By the way, my wished itinerary would be:

Valencia-> Glasgow - Stirling/Dundee - Inverness/Culloden - Drumnadrochit / Loch Ness - Skye - Loch Lommond - Glasgow -> Valencia

As I have not still appointed any flight or hostel reserve, I can modify more or less the order of these visits to try to adapt to you as much as I can. So, post ur itineraries here as well if it's possible, ok?

Just as a curiosity,.... will they say smthg at the customs office if I take there some wanderful hand made sgian dubh? It would not be a problem to put it on the suitcase, not as "hand baggage", uh?

It's sad to say, but it is looking more and more like I am going to miss this gathering. I am still trying to find a way to make it, but it is looking slim.
