You need to try try putting a bit of Scotch in the barbeque sauce. Not the good stuff of course, but an inexpensive one. Good eating!

Another really nice whisky is Lagavulin - probably my favourite just in front of Laphroaig which is strange as the distilleries are about 1/2 mile apart. Another nice whisky is Highland Park from Orkney.

A Wee Dram
I used to be very partial to a wee dram in my younger days - single malts at high days and holidays but otherwise blends. Glenlivet was one of my favourites. I stopped drinking whisky due to liver inflammation ten years ago but still drank wine for about seven or eight years after that. Now I don't drink alcohol. Enjoy - in moderation it will do you no harm, and will give you a nice glow, but Scotch Whisky is nice stuff and it's all too easy to gradually make that wee dram bigger and bigger and then suffer for it in later years.

A Wee Dram
Had a day out on the 'plane to Islay last summer and here is a picture I took of Bowmore distillery. There are several distilleries on the island. Islay malts are smokier in flavour because of the peat content in the soil through which the water has flowed on its way to the distillery and because of this some people find Islay malts laxative.

We are working on some McClelland "Highland" at my house. I have a bottle of Glenlivet 12 in reserve that was a gift from one of my employees who is also a single malt fan, he felt I needed to try it. The Glenlivet is good and smooth, definitely one of the best I have tried.
Still have some of the Dalmore in reserve as well, I'll have to to invest in some thing different this weekend, I've got to get my stock built up. I haven't decided what it wil be yet, I am open to suggestions.

My over-indulgent days are long behind me... I found the hang overs hurt too much and last longer the older I get...;)

MACALLAN 18 y/o!
I appreciate Glenlivet 12 and it is the one I choose if someone ask what bottle can they get me for the holidays or my birthday. But I got to tell ya, the other night after a great dinner out with my girlfriend, she ordered me a MacAllan 18 y/o as dessert! Liquid heaven in a glass! May be not an everyday drink (too expensive for me) but something that should be enjoyed whenever possible.

Get a bottle of it; it's cheaper that way.
It's not cheap, I'm thinking $150-ish, but, so worth having around for that special occasion drink.

I just finished my last opened bottle of Single Malt (Bowmore). I now have 3 bottles in cabinet. Laphroaig 10yo (1L), Lagavulin Double Matured Distillers Edition (Dist. 1989, Bottled 2005, 1L) and Talisker Double Matured Distillers Edition (Dist. 1991, bottled 2004, 1L).
I think I open the Laph now because that is something I always have in my cabinet and open the Distillers Editions when my flat reconstruction is finished...
