As there is such an influx of newbies of late (myself included), it would be nice to get to know a bit more about who is who on Xmarks & what makes them tick etc, so I have come up with the following list of 20 questions that might fill out the images we have of ewach other & allow us to get to know each other a bit better and discover even more that we have in common besides an appreciation of kilts

My Answers:

1. Name/Initials: Colin/CSG
2. Where do you live: Jersey City NJ – just outside of Manhattan
3. How many other places have you lived: Bermuda & Halifax Nova Scotia Canada for university
4. How many other places in the world have you visited: not enough of them – never been to Europe or Asia or Australia or the Far East – I need to get out more…
5. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Right now? SOMEWHERE WARM!!!
6. Name something you like physically about yourself: My posture – I have been told stand like a cop/ex-dancer – it makes me look like I have finally hit the 6’ mark
7. Name something non-physical you like about yourself: My wicked/twisted sense of humor & quick wit (no comments from the peanut gallery here

)
8. How many kilts do you have: 5 so far – just finished #5 this AM – can someone tell me why did I feel the need to stay up until 1:00 this morning pulling threads out to make a fringe??? Please? Pretty please…
9. How many kilts are you planning to acquire on the next year: At least 4 more – one tartan – if I can find the right tartan locally, one Nova Scotia Tartan, one leather & at least one knock-about UK styled one
10. What got you started in this in the first place: Had wanted to give it a try for the longest while and finally said to hell with it after seeing a neighbor on the subway time & again in his – it looked so damned comfortable I had to give it a shot.
11. Where was the last time/place you wore your kilt? Yesterday afternoon to a meeting of the kilt wearing group in my area & then out & about to a few bars in the Village in NYC.
12. Favorite time to wear a kilt: ALL THE TIME (unfortunately cant due to oppressive suit & tie requirements of the day job – bloody fascists!)
13. Last person who gave your favorable feedback about your kilt wearing: A member of the kilt wearers group – loved the look & was amazed that I had made it myself.
14. Last person who gave your UNfavorable feedback about your kilt wearing: Being a little on the intimidating side :-x people rarely say anything unfavorable to my face about it [insert evil glare here]
15. What’s in YOUR sporran? Don’t have one yet 

16. What do you like to do OTHER THAN wear/talk about/obsess over kilts: Choral singing, head to see Broadway & off Broadway shows, play volleyball, take Improv classes, volunteer, play trivia/board games, challenge myself & live outside the box…
17. Name one thing you have done that others might think a bit insane (like bungee jumping etc) : I have been known to roam the streets of NYC wearing little more than a smile (it was for a couple of photo shoots for the artist Spencer Tunick – get your minds outta the gutter!!!)
18. Say something totally random about yourself: I need to get my butt to work but am having too much fun in X marks to leave… can we say ADDICTION???
19. What question would you like to answer that hasn’t been included in the list: Q: What is the meaning of life? A: 42 (sorry, couldn’t resist)

3. How many other places have you lived: Sorento, Illinois (a tiny place of about 300 people located about 45 miles northeast of St. Louis.
4. How many other places in the world have you visited: Most of the US, 14 other countries including 5 in Europe, and several Carribean islands
5. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I want to see it all
6. Name something you like physically about yourself: I'm tall (6'2")

9. How many kilts are you planning to acquire on the next year: Not sure, as I'm trying to lose some weight
10. What got you started in this in the first place: I bought an inexpensive kilt for National Tartan Day in 2005, then found this board
11. Where was the last time/place you wore your kilt? A few weeks back at a volksmarch
12. Favorite time to wear a kilt: At the beer festival
13. Last person who gave your favorable feedback about your kilt wearing: The girls at Hooters;)

Can't recall ever getting bad feedback or abuse while wearing kilt but once a stone just missed me while I was walking kilted - never did find out what coward threw it or why.

3. How many other places have you lived: Ugh...I do enough math at work do I have to count here as well....
4. How many other places in the world have you visited: Ugh more counting....last major trip was 2 weeks in Italy...kilted of course
5. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I'm looking at a 2 week adventure tour of New Zealand...if not there then Switzerland
