Sitting here watching The Princess Diaries on the Disney channel with my daughters. Never noticed it before, but there is a Scot wearing a kilt, and his wife is wearing what looks like a fly plaid, only smaller. A tartan piece of cloth worn over her left shoulder. He is wearing a red tartan with a black jacket and sporran. Can't see much of the kilt. His lady friend remains seated and is wearing a white blouse under the fly.
It is the scene during the State dinner, the first time that Mia appears at a Genovian function in public.
Just thought everyone would be interested. Forgive me if someone already noticed it.
I have never even heard of The Princess Diaries let alone seen it I'm afraid but, Rob, just a quiet word - between the two of us: Ladies do not wear the Fly Plaid. That's for us chaps. The ladies wear The Sash, which should be of a lightweight tartan, or silk for formal evening wear.
