This is sound advice for any of us really, especially those with tanks that we paid $500 or so for. From what I understand most home-owner's insurance policies will cover items that are in the home should something happen *to* the home or *in* the home. Though some policies might cover stuff outside the home that the policy holder owns.

I had 60 CD's stolen out of my car several years ago. The car insurance covered the broken window, but not the CD's. However, because the car was in my mom's name, her home insurance covered the CD's. And that was the last time I had any positive feelings about insurance companies. Now I fully understand that insurance is just legalized racketeering.

Anywhooo, perhaps the Xmarks'ers here that are wiser than I can shed some light on the subject more.
