Good looking kilt , but hows come you chose to pleat to set and not stripe? I've one in the works right now to. After Matt let the secret out how to make box pleats I decided I'd make myself one. Its Ross Hunting Modern 13oz(It was handy, but the 16 would be better) boxed to the red stripe. Matt said earlier that it should be 1/3 the sett size in width so with this perticular one its a 15 3/4 sett. I got 5 1/4 box pleats. Seems perty big but after getting used to the look I think that its perty dang nice.

Angus, my tartan's sett was only 6 1/4 inches, so I got away with a 3 inch pleat. It just happened to repeat the sett. A couple other variations were not as satisfactory as this one is.

Post a pic of your box pleated kilt when you are ready.
