update on Baghdad Kilt
Today, the Iraqi girl that spoke the most english, showed me a bolt of material that was the appropriate weight. The colors were desert colors, ie. browns, tans, khakis et. The only thing was, it was not plaid. It was a stripe. I did take a photo of it, but at the moment I cannot down load it to the computer. Iit just doesnt seem like having the stripes would work. I tried to pleate it with the stripes going horizontal, and that just didnt look right. I tried the pleating again wth the stripes going vertical, and it was not to bad, provided the pleats are very close together. I asked her to find a bolt of material that was plaid, or at the very least, a solid brown color. I think Saturday is going to be the magic day. We should get it all worked out by then. And in other news, I think my friends and I are close to agreeing on a Private Security Detail; Operation Iraqi Freedom tartan. I think I should be able to give Matt Newsome a final go on a tartan and then get the ball rolling on that. When my wife gets the bill for this one, she will have me do a six month extension.
