I have two of the pewter pins - one with the 'sapphire' stones and one with 'topaz'. These are first class kilt pins with a good, solid weight to them. Trouble is, I cannot recall which retailer I got them from!

Well, the first one is not to my liking, but the pewter is quite nice.
And Ham, it is not surprising you can't remmeber the retailer! With your Kollection, and I mean the kilts and all the accessories, you would need a fairly large and well indexed database to track everything!

Ah! I have it! I got them from http://scottishkilts.net in Glasgow. The pins are listed under "Kilt Pins and Cap Badges" and then "Themed Kilt Pins".
I don't understand databases, KCW, but I keep all the invoices and receipts for my purchases!

whoot. i checked out the website. a little pricey for me, but wow, she has some sweet designs! maybe i could start making my own designs, post some pics, see what you guys think...maybe we should have section of the forum devoted to Member's creations...kilts, sporrans, belts, pins, heck hose if you can knit, stuff that you don't sell for a living, just your own kilt-related handicraft.

Personally, I liked the all pewter one best. I wasn't a big fan of the toe-ring on the first pin at all.

I ordered the "disgusting" version...
For some reason I really like it...it's pretty ugly, but I still like it...it's something different and I like the ancient "touch".
Reserved for my MacLaren "ancient 1819 variant" kilt (House of Edgar).

Brenda from kiltpins.com informed me this kiltpin was just sold
but....
She offered me another vintage grouse pin...
I like it even better...so I get this one instead.
