Exercise is critical. I tend to use ankle and wrist weights while I'm doing chores around the place. It increases the effort needed and still lets me get things done. I also use an eliptical crosstrainer. The goal isn't so much losing weight, muscle is heavier than fat, it to get rid of excess fat. Another point to remember is deep belly fat is the last to go so be patient and don't expect overnight miracles.
