Welcome, from a fellow traditionalist. I'm glad you plan on continuing your education in proper kilt attire. It's worth it. I'm with you, if it weren't for traditional Highland wear, I'd not have a kilt at all.

Now...as to waiting to get the rest of your kit, don't wait!!! Put on your Kilt, take a deep breath, and start wearing it regularly. You won't be sorry. Sure, I wouldn't want to show up at a Burns dinner without full regalia, but the kilt works just fine as a daily garment with just a sweater and a sporran. Check Ham's gallery for some awesome pictures of how to wear a kilt in "the real world".

I'll be at the Games at the King County, WA fairgrounds for sure, and will try to make the Pierce County Games also. Not sure about Portland, but you never know. If I go I'll let you know.
