You mentioned that the lady behind the counter said that she did not even have a skirt at present. Made me think that I can't even remember the last time my wife wore a skirt - she only has a couple. I would not be surprised if many women no longer have skirts or dresses. I could be wrong, but I think that is due to what the fashion industry has designed for women to wear as far as skirts go - they are designed to emphasize a womens figure rather than for comfort or practicality.

I've bought some really nice canes online but I find that my best canes have all come from trips to my local tobacconist. It's a strange thing that places that sell pipes also tend to have the best selection of canes. I'm not going to recommend you buy anything else there because this is neither the time nor the place for that, but a tobacconist is a great place to start.
