Goodbye, Barney Fife

How very sad. He was one of the greats of comedy and an American icon. He will be greatly missed.

I just read that actor Darren McGavin also died at age 83.

Both brought great joy & laughter & sometime tears to the american public and the world at large. They will be greatly missed.

Knotts had a gift for comedy. He chose to share that gift with the world and delighted millions. He will be missed.

I was just reading an article on Don Knotts. Apparently he was a WWII vet, having served in Special Services in the South Pacific.

I was first introduced to him as Mr. Furley before I got to Barney Fife...have to admit that he knew what it took to get a laugh from the audience...a true comedic genius...

I just read on the news that Dennis Weaver, from Gunsmoke and McCloud, has also just died at 81.

Don Knots was always a source of good, clean laughter. The likes of him will be sorely missed.
