I've read someplace that kilts made from naturally died wool have a "bouquet" (fragrance, nose, etc.) from the plants from which the colors are made.
Blu, its possible, I guess. However, more than likely if there is any odour at all from the actual dyes, it might not be so pleasant. Think compost.
