Yep I'm glad I finished school before they got so uptight.
Most of the people I hung out with carried pocket knives or butterfly knives, the teachers even knew it (butterfly knives usually stuck out of the pocket a little so they could be seen) & no one really cared much.
Then again it was not exactly uncommon to see shotguns in the back window of trucks in the parking lot during the fall because some of us would go bird hunting after school.

LOL! It was the same way when I was in highschool. Instead of bird hunting it was always deer hunting.

I will do. I also ordered a custom woven item in my clan tartan so there will be a delay in shipping and I asked for everything to just be shipped together once the entire order is ready to save on shipping costs. So it should be here in a about a month and once it arrives I'll let you all know. But I don't want you to think that there was a problem with the order because of the delay, I just ordered a product that I knew was going to take a while to get here.

Cool idea Nick, thanks.

My only Sgian Dhu is a mini USMC KayBar replica. Kathy Lare's husband at Kathy's Kilts makes them up. Not an actual knife, originally a letter opener, has an aluminum blade.
I like it since the handle sends the message, "Semper Fi."

Aye, That's the one!
Thanks Ron.
You mentioned that sheath on this forum earlier. I already have the letter opener and I had just e-mailed Kathy Lare about buying the sheath to go with it. I mentioned that I would like to see what it will look like and she said she would get a picture to me somehow. And all of a sudden, there it is! What a coincidence! Did she put you up to that?

Crack me up...nope, just a coincidence I guess. Just got home from the Mesa, AZ Highland Games and saw the thread. Think her husband is the one who makes up the sheaths.

Love the mini-Kabar, Ron!
Found out something about carrying the other day. I've said before that I was informed by the Assistant D.A. that a sgian is a concealed weapon in MI. Turns out he was pulling my leg. He just told me it really isn't a concealed weapon as long as it's visible, and in fact you can carry any size knife as long as it's visible. So I guess I'm going to go ahead and build that day sgian I've been wanting.
