First I think that you'll find that you don't have to wash it quite so frequently as, say, a pair of jeans. I've not had a lot of trouble with pilling on mine...I do throw them in the washing machine, wash gentle and spin the water out...I go back and spin it a couple of extra times just to get as much water out as possible. I have put them in the dryer and you do find a bit more of a fuzzy surface after that...I actually used a small Wahl trimmer that's made for trimming hair to get the fuzz off...it was here and I haven't had a chance to pick up one of those sweater shavers. (There is a GIANT SWEATER SHAVER available at my local CVS store...I don't know if that means that the shaver its self is GIANT or that it is made to be used on GIANT sweaters.

I have gone over to just laying a couple of bath towels down on a table and laying the wet SWK standard on the towels and lining everything up neatly and just letting it dry. This seems to accomplish three things:

1. I seems to dry with no "fuzz"...I think that the dryer actually exacerbates the fuzz factor.

2.The pleats seem to stay sharper without my having to fool around with the iron...something I've found to be a difficult bit of business to do well with the SWK standards.

3. It give my pain in the **** cat, Chili Palmer, someplace to lay and drive me nuts shooing him off of my kilt.

I recently got one of the SWK Hunting McLeods and I think you will enjoy it.

Best
