    name that belt...

on the Stillwater site...in the nylon sporran movie....it looks like a pistol belt.
Where do I get a black web belt of that width (preferably cotton as opposed to nylon) that I can attach my own kilt buckle to?

It's called a web belt. Here's one link. A Google search on militery or army surplus will turn up dozens more. The surplus sites also have small belts or straps that will look good with Stillwaters nylon sporran.(sporran straps)

A standard kilt buckle fits perfectly, but you do need the buckle receiver also; thats the part on the other end of the belt that the buckle hooks onto. I had a batch of buckles plated with zinc phosphate to give them the flat black finish.

Personally, I would avoid a US style pistol belt. Too many eyelets on there, and I figure they could some serious damage much like a chain sporran belt.

A Canadian or Brit style, in my opinion, would be much safer. No eyelets at all.

Edited to add that you would need an older style Can or Brit belt, as newer do have eyelets. Strange, but I recall the 82 pattern Canuck belts without eyelets.
