In the background is a picture of my late maternal grandfather Chief Petty Officer Steve Martinez. He retired after 30 years of service and saw action in WW II, Korea & Vietnam. He also raised me for a significant portion of my childhood until I was 11 years old. And even though he raised me as his own, and loved me dearly, I actually share no blood with him. He was my step-grandfather but you would never have known from how well he treated my mother and myself. He was a man of quiet dignity, and limitless love.

Your Grandfather and mine had a lot in common. Mine also was a step Grandfather who raised me and treated me as his own. He married my Grandmother the day before I was born and he was positive I was his by blood!! I had a lot of fun telling people my Grandparents got married the day before I was born.....raised a few eyebrows. Also like yours he was a gentleman with great character. He lives forever in me as I am sure yours does with you! Aren't we lucky?

    Congrats Glass!

    You look splendid!

Move the glengarry a bit to the right...you wear it too straight on top of your head...right side down and left (badge side) up a bit

    Great Pic Glassman!

Thanks for posting it. A beautiful tartan. Its is SOOOO nice to see pics of the full kilt. Hard to imagine from the small squares on most websites.

Of course, you know you expanded my wish list....

Robin -- just what I was thinking. The Glengarry needs a certain "tilt" to it to look "proper".

    Cheers,

Good suggestion. It does look better in the mirror that way.
