Got mine today, 03-08-06, and it fits great. I won't send a pic since so many others will. Unless, of course, I have one with a pretty lassie. Too bad I have to work St. Pat's day

Now that I have had the time to give my Irish American kilt a closer look, here are a few additional notes:
There are two hanger loops inside the kilt, which are made of the same black material as the lining. The website states the lining is made of canvas. If it is made of canvas, it is a very smooth (soft to the touch) canvas.
As I stated before, the kilt is pleated to stripe. However, it wasn't done in the usual manner. On my 8-yard tank (Royal Stewart pleated to stripe), every pleat has a white stripe. On my Irish American kilt, only every other pleat has a white stripe. The pleats in between have no stripe at all. Furthermore, there are 4 pleats with a gold stripe, instead of a white stripe, which are evenly spaced across the kilt. My guess is this method had to be used because of the reduced yardage (5 yards instead of 8 yards) of this kilt.
This is my first 5-yard wool kilt and I am happy with its appearance. I was afraid the pleats on a 5-yard kilt would look overly wide and shallow, but they don't. When I removed the kilt from its shipping box, my first impression was that someone had messed up and sent me an 8-yard kilt. I suspect only a knowledgeable person (such as a kiltmaker) will be able to tell that it is a 5-yard kilt.

I think it's a pretty nice kilt and hard to beat for the price! For me it's well made but, then again I'm not very fussy. Did I mention the great price. Thanks again Bill for the original post on the kilt.

Tidy kilt mate. A bargain and in time for Paddy's.

Question -- this appears to me to be neither to sett nor to stripe, correct? I am debating about ordering one of these . . .

Mark,
It is pleated to stripe, more or less. See how the pleats have a vertical red, white and blue stripe or a gold stripe. Actually only every other pleat is striped. The others have no stripe. It is an unusual arrangement.

looking at teh front of the kilt & the layoiut of the stripes there & then the pleating in the back it makes me wonder if all the pleats are the same depth? would take an interesting pleating technique to make the different stripes come to the fore like that - as they are different distances apart.... hhhmmm.....
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!
