I pretty much wear whatever I've got lying around. Pretty much have to, since I have stinky feet. With a Utilikilt, it's usually the running shoes with some casual long socks (yes, pulled up - don't like the look of ankle socks with a kilt, nor the sockless look, just looks too weird). With a traditional, if I'm using running shoes, it's either off-white or oatmeal kilt hose with flashes that go with the kilt, as shown in my avatar. If I'm wearing boots, then it's anything but off-white. Same with casual or dress shoes.

    Kilted mile

It's kinda hard not to wear athletic socks with running shoes when representing one's clan and competing (?) in the kilted mile before thousands of spectators in the grandstands. Plain white T-shirt, tartan kilt, no sporran, white socks, black Reeboks - comfortable, appropriate, serviceable- and turn the kilt around, pleats to front, when running (freer leg movement and better modesty maintenance. I love the kilt's versatility! BTW, the turning the kilt around was mentioned in another thread as one method of dealing with all that fabric when answering nature's daily call.)

Since when did our most active contributors here worry about making any but the most obvious fashion statement? (Ya know, the kilt?) Who's to quibble on the smaller items?

(Dang! Pardon me. It doesn't take much to get me fired up.)
