Thanks for the support, guys. Dropping a job right now is not the end of the world for us, cash-flow wise. We have many months of moolah in reserve, and we'll be fine. Also I have seen this coming for about two months and have been looking. Ive had three interviews and darned near landed one of them. I just had another interview last Monday. It's only a matter of time before I hook up with something good.
My lady was out of week for 13 months recently and only started working again last month, but the job is absolutely fantastic, so we're committed to this geographical area. Taking the bruntof a job loss always is rough, but yes, I'm seeing this as an opportunity think a bit who-what-and where I want to go and what I want to be doing. Also, whie my lady and I are constantly re-evaluating our retirement plans, we've taken another hard look at them, and we're doing remarkbly well, all things considered. My goal is to make it so that she can stop working in 2009, maybe 2010, and we're still making decent progress towards that. It might be more like 2012 (she'll be about 52 at that point) but that's more than acceptable. I'm not panicking here, only just stressed a bit, which is natural.
Regarding bright white hose....I have some soccer/rugby socks that I ordered from Bear. I wear 'em all the time, especially with my Ramsay kilt from USA Kilts and it's a bright color combination, but heck, why not? Wearing them rolled down is a non-issue, or course. For more formal situations, I prefer cream/off white, but we'll see how the gray ones I just ordered from Hamilton Dry Goods look.
We're going to the London Symphony tonight and I will put on my Eton jacket as prepped for uber-formal, and you all can see what I did for formal on a budget.
