True. More muted green, and the orange (saffron) is nicer than the brighter yellow. Mind, for a solid, I think I'd go for a mustard yellow, like a true old-timey saffron, than the orange of today. Good look all around for you.

Alan,
Repeat after me, green is good, green is good, green means another kilt...
I can't wait to wear it for St. Pat's day. I would love to find a yellow/saffron shirt to match the tartan stripe, but I doubt it will happen by Friday.

It's funny...all but one of my tartan kilts are green based. A trend, perhaps?

I'm developing a taste for blue. Except aht My MacNaughton is red, and the kilt I'm making is red and I'm wearing a black one right now and the tartan I just bought for my next kilt is gray, but not ONE........
.....green kilt in the lot. Hmm.

Poor, Alan: no green kilts to be had, eh? I've got a 16oz green trad (MacDonald of the Isles), a 16oz blue trad (Macdonald of Borodale), a 13oz red trad (Williams of Wales), and my SWK Black Watch casual. Add in the XMarks tartan due in this year, and it seems I'm short another green and red kilt. If we count the Isle of Skye box kilt I want as a green, I'll need to order the Clan rose for my second red kilt.
Bryan...then again, I *can* tap a county Kerry kilt, too...

Every time that I see that tartan, I think that maybe I should get one too.
I don't have any Irish blood, that I'm aware of, but I do like several Irish bands, and The Quiet Man is one of my favorite John Wayne films.
Hmmm...
Now, if I could only find the cash.

Or like me, all of the ones I have family ties to are based on red, green and black (Livingston, Walker, Stuart of Appin, MacDougell, MacGregor) so I guess I'll have to make a concerted effort to get at least one that is primarily blue. Hmmmm.....make note to self to talk the DW into letting loose of enough to get in on the tail end of the Xmarks tartan run
