    Good you have a local willing to do it.

    Just for price comparison, UK charges $25 to "chop" a kilt. I've bought two off the scratch and dent rack that were too long (I wear a UK short) but it was worth it to have them chopped to short and still get the faster delivery and discounted price.

    So anything up to $50 plus probably another $30 for back and forth shipping to UK and you got a fair/good deal.

    I had to have a SWK kilt taken up about 1.5" recently. It cost me $30 in upstate NY. They did a very nice job and said that they had done a few other kilts for pipers in the past. Call around and ask if they've had any experience with kilts first. Someone who hasn't worked with kilts before doesn't understand how much material is really in a kilt.
