Actually I have a Poly-Viscose Usa kilt but i'm to afriad that if i wash it in a washing machine or do any hard work in it something will happen to it.
Don't worry about it, just throw the USAK in the wash (cold) and forget about it. Then take it out, hang it up on 2 hangars and align the pleats to make them come out nice. All done. I was also concerned about throwing my USAK semi-trad in the washer, but not any more. Absolutely easy to take care of.
And you can't hurt the PV material. I have used mine for everything, including as a bottle opener after a funeral service (Rocky, is that normal wear and tear?), and no problems, worries, or wear.
