High School Girls Love Kilts
I haven't worn pants in over 8 months now. I don't think much about wearing kilts anymore.
Last weekend ran into a coworker and her teenage daughter at our new Super WalMart . Today got this belated email comment from the coworker tagged on to the end of a business message.
Oh ya, my daughter thought your kilt you had on in walmart the other day was "Sooooo cool!"
Not bad for a 61-year-old fossil,

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

I know your pain since I did that kilt demo at school many of the young ladies smile or ask where's your kilt. 15 mins of fame I now know what Warhol meant.

I'm almost embarrassed to put this up, but...
My 11 yr old son and his 15 yr old brother have worn their kilts to Church so much that the girls in the Church mentioned to me last night that they don't even notice anymore - but at our weekday liturgies (where all the city's Orthodox gather during lent from several parishes) they did notice other people noticing!
Then an 18 yr old high schooler mentioned to me that she'd love to take the 11 yr old, in his kilt, to prom! She thought that would be really cool.
Now, of course, she is not serious ( ?), but it just goes to show the power of the kilt!
Happy Tartan Day all, and more kilt power all around.

Ron, you old dog you!
I haven't noticed any teenagers, but I have had extra attention from several twenty-something's. Makes you feels good.
