Thanks everyone for your kind congrats. Ann and I discussed your question of what makes a happy marriage and we both agreed its probably down to having been friends for a long time before we married, without perceiving the other party as a trophy to be shown off to mates.

Congrats on 22 years and a very strong friendship!

I've been with my best friend for 13 years now.
In fact, our relationship has outlasted all our friends marriages. So I have to agree with your thoughts on friendship being a strong foundation.

Be agreeable. "Yes Dear" is the acceptable response to most everything. Also, stay away from men who claim to be the boss in their family, they're likely to lie about other things too.

Come December, my bride and I will celebrate our 37th anniversary. I tell folks that I'd be lying if I said we've always been happy with each other, but I can guarantee that we've never been bored with each other. I think boredom creates more problems than almost anything else.
