how to remove the pleat thread
When you get a new kilt, the pleats are sewn together. You need to remove this thread before you can wear it right. Be careful, though. If you try to pull it out all at once, you can rip a hole in your new kilt. Don't want that.
Every few pleats, be sure to cut the thread. Pulling it through uncut may put a damage your kilt.
The last few stitches can be difficult to get out of the pleats. Be patient and take your time. The kilt isn't going anywhere.

One more thread to pick out before I can wear it.

Letting the kilt breathe
as with any fine wine, you need to let the kilt breath for a few minutes. Let it get used to freedom before you put it on for the first time.

The seller isn't very quick with answers, so maybe you can help me. Are the sizes quoted with the straps fully extended or fully tightened? Looks like there is more than an inch worth of adjustment. Also, I noticed he has a Cameron one that isn't hemmed. Where would I be able to get that done?
