The damn air & light unit is just a giant air compressor and someone had set it up downwind from the fires. Needless to say, we just pulled our hoods up over our noses and went in to fight the fires the old fashioned way. It was forever until I finally stopped sneezing black snot! And when I get a really bad respirator infection and the coughs go way deep I still can cough up black chunks to this day. Legs and lungs, two things that stopped working right after 9-11.

Glassman, my father was a wildland firefighter for 37 years before retiring, to this day he still coughs up black crap on occasion and his sinus' are all messed up still. Take care of yourself and you will be fine, it just takes awhile
