Just like Cinco de Mayo, Christmas and 4th of July... I am free to celebrate it however I please! No one tells me I have to have to have ham for Easter either!
From the article: "It's hard to say what No Pants Day commemorates other than simply the freedom associated with not wearing pants." Hey, I can agree with that.
I also modified their logo to my preference!!! HA!
The truth is, it was "No Pants Day" last year that I decided to go out in my kilt to Starbucks and I haven't looked back since. As much as the "creators" and promoters of the annual NPD may prefer boxers, they don't get a say in how any holiday is celebrated, even if they invented it!
Did Martin Luther King, Jr. get a say in his holiday? Hell, no.
Found that site yesterday as well! Thought it was funny, and that I might have done it in university, but not now, and especially not here in Turkey! The kilt is attention enough.
I as well am going to celebrate no pants day by first wearing pants (don't think my administrator, the parents, my collegues, or my students for that matter, would enjoy me not wearing pants) and then by switching to my kilt in the evening and gladly remember that I'm not wearing pants!
