A 3x5' Saltire hangs inside my living room window so folks can see it from outside. Live in a rental so no flag pole to fly it from. But I do "fly" it for the public to see.

The flagpole information reminded me of an old story. Supposedly a question on a West Point exam provided the soon to be Lieutenants about how to raise a flagpole. They were given so much pipe, so much rope, a post hole digger, and a few bags of cement. Most answered with elaborate plans. The correct answer was to give the command, "Sergeant, raise that flagpole."

    Here's an interesting question:

Would the Saltire beflown below or level with the Union Flag? If below, would it fly level with the US flag or below it but equal with state flags? I ask because US states and the countries of the UK seem to be in analagous positions, dependent, subordinate, and discrete political units.

    Anyone know?

You need to fly only one at a time. Otherwise you're guilty of showing a double standerd in public.

National flags are flown as equals. I think that it would be equal with the Saltire and Union due to the nature of the organization. But I do not know for sure.
