That makes at least three of us in Asheville proper and several more within spittin' distance! And you're right...walking about in downtown Asheville in a kilt is not going to draw much attention.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome - it's a great place here. It's nice to see NC people as I spent 3 years there living in either Cary or Pinehurst. I'd like to go back for retirement but can't decide whether it should be Pinehurst or somewhere on the coast. Make sure to wear those kilts on the golf course too.
ckelly327 - the first round of kilted golf that I ever played was at The Pit in Pinehurst. Played poorly, as usual, but I was comfortable!
Played the Pit many times but never got the hang of it. Had too much of a "power fade" off the tee at the time and had problems finding the fairways. Try a couple of the Donald Ross courses towards Southern Pines. They are very fair and not overly tricked up - plus they are kilt friendly places.
A hearty welcome to you. I live just a few miles south of you as well in the Lake Lure/ Ruffton (Rutherfordton) area.
Always good to see another Carolinian join the forum.
I see you have been to the Triangle games.
What other games do you make it too?
Greenville Games are next then hopefully Friday and Sunday at
Grandfather. We usually camp but work is
going to make that impossible this year.
There is also a good chance I might make it to the
ETH show next Friday at Jack of Woods.
