Just keep repeating that and all will be well. Trust me.

    Welcome to X Marks, Craig.
Done. Do I get a gold star?

    Welcome Home!

Do tell. My first time out kilted involved a lot of standing around in a stuffy, overheated theater. Rivulets of sweat trickling down both thighs... not the most comfortable feeling in the world.

That's the first sensation I had to get used to when wearing the kilt. It's really a little weird the first time it happens.

    To Lex Mundi and Craig,

Welcome aboard the good ship X Marks! She has a few leaks, our rudder is a bit warped, and our sail is a tad tattered. But she's yar. You've joined a merry crew (of kilted pirates. ) Enjoy the voyage and Welcome!

Cheers from a California X Marker and Utilikiltarian

My first time out was with a group of kilted gentlemen so I felt a little secure. The second time was alone and as the time went by I was more and more relaxed. The third time I didn't even think about it, it was just normal to me. Relax and have fun! Oh yeah, welcome aboard.

Thanks for all the comments and welcomes!

My 1st time out was very positive............ but then came this past week, staying w/ my in-laws. That was anything but positive, almost lost my sanity entirely!

I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but it p1553th me off when people say it is OK to wear a kilt "at certain times/occasions", which turns out to mean, "whenever they say it is OK." Anyway, it was just a bad scene, peaking when my wife said I had ruined Mother's Day.

I had a funny conversation with mom-in-law, which went like:

    Kilts don't look manly.
    -Do p***s look womanly?
Well, they're acceptable for women to wear.
    -Was it always so?
No, I had to wear dresses in high school.
-When you could wear p***s, were you happy?
Yes, I like them, more comfortable.
-Kilts are more comfortable, too, and if a few brave women had not started wearing p***s, you would still be in a dress today.

OK, sorry to vent, but had to do it somewhere!

This is the right place to vent - we understand and are able to give you our moral support.

Don't get me going on mother-in-laws...

Maybe it is a little sudden for her, and she just may need a little time to get used to your new-found style.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
