There are probably some others as well ... I'm thinking of entering the Tulsa games this fall in piping, but I'm not sure yet. I haven't ever competed before, and I'm afraid of making a fool of myself by not knowing the etiquette.

You should give it a try. Competition can be stressful and nerve-wracking, but it will help motivate you to improve your playing and help get you used to playing in frot of people. You'll also have the opportunity to meet a lot of other pipers. There's not much you need to know. Email me and I'll answer any questions you have about it or get the answers from somebody. If you're in a band up there you should be able to find people who compete solo to talk to.

I'll have to miss it due to going over to seas but ya'll have fun.

I'll be there...throwing...in the hot sun...all day on Sat. It should be painfully fun. I'll be throwing in the C class that starts at 9:30 am.
