auld argonian ...I suppose that what the lads are sayin' here is that since the kilt has caught on so radically in the USA, it might behoove Marton Mills or who-ever to put a USA tartan into the works...
I would have to agree, and I would be in for one if a custom weave were done, and probably a semi-trad at that. I think the problem is the 130 meter requirement by Marton Mills for a custom weave though. 130 meters of double width would be 260 meters of kilt width material, that would be 32 semi-tradtional kilts and one Casual kilt or 52 casual kilts (if we had one bought for every state, plus DC it might pay off) that would have to be made to use up all the fabric. That is a lot of kilts to be made. If it ever happens though, I will be first on the list, now just 31 semi-trads, and one casual to go!!!

I don't know how the Ireland's national run went and if all the material was used and sold. You can see where it would be quite a effort to get all those kilts sold. Since I am one that doesn't like to wear clan kilts, this would be a way for me to get another USA Kilt (I am running out of non-clan tartans)

Just a thought I am sure Rocky will correct me if I am wrong!!
