    It's a serrated plastic edge. I wouldn't try cutting mountaineering rope with it, but it's reasonably sharp. Makes one heck of a box cutter.

    The edge can be resharpened with an emery board, too. I wouldn't imagine that it'll keep an edge for long.

    For about $10 or so they are OK. I pack the tanto model for emergencies in my kayak or canoe when on the water instead of a good knife. I believe mine is the older Zytel material. Certainly not the durability of metal but if I only need it once it will be worth having.
