    Funny stuff. I just got back from a cruise where I met 3 guys from Scotland (1 from Glascow and 2 from Inverness) and they had a hard time understanding each other...well, after the sctoch got flowin' anyway ;-)

    Inverness is a nice soft accent- I struggle to understand very heavy fast glasgow accents as much as anyone

    folk doon here (soothwest corner) say the folk fraim Inverness speak English clearer than the English!

    The island folk do, some are very posh. a lot of tourists expect the Highland folk to have Glasgow acccents for some reason, been watching too many episodes of Taggart I think.
