I have to agree w/ Mexpiper, the only way to go on road trips is in a kilt. Far greater comfort.

I have to disagree. I know is against popular opinion in this forum, buy I have never been able to get the pleats straight when getting into a car. And the more I try to straighten, the worse it gets! I end up feeling like I’m sitting on a big ball of cloth. Drives me nuts! (Pun intended) I’d hate to see how the pleats look after a long hot drive.

I do think it's fairly comfortable to drive while kilted, but I will definitetly agree about the pleats. Mine usually look terrible after a car trip, no matter what I do to keep them straight. The only way I have had any success has been to wrap a towel around myself and hold it tight while I sit down.

I'm driving to the Glasgow Games in a couple of weeks. It's a little over a 4 hour drive. And I'm going to use Josh's technique, myself. I figure 4 hours time sitting on the pleats will have them creased for life.

I prefer driving in a kilt...so far just done fairly short 4 hours drives ( tulsa to dallas)..

the true test will be when I drive to cape cod from tulsa in an ebay tank in two weeks.

I'll post something about it ( and some pics if I can figure a way to photograph myself when travelling alone without getting mugged/robbed/killed).

I try to play it by ear. I have done both.

I try to show up to where ever looking my best .... and some days that can be a chore!

Especially when you eat and drive.

I have never eaten curry or pizza when driving ! I just hope the curry is not on the pizza I tend to eat things that dont make a mess. HMMM getting hungry have not had a good curry in a long time.
